If you take IFHE as a skill you lose 3% fire chance and you gain 30% penetration:ġ52 / 6 = 25.33 25.33 * 1.3 = 32.929 mm of penetration, this is STILL NOT ENOUGH to penetrate the 38mm deck armor of the October. It is not enough to pen 38mm deck armor on the rest of the ship. So 152 / 6 = 25.33 mm of penetration - this is enough to pen the nose and aft of the ship (19mm armor) On 152mm guns such as the Murmask has IFHE makes no positive difference vs October revolution. (hint - please remember damage saturation if damage drops to 0) Here I made an image file that hopefully will help people dealing with October and Nikolai -Īt the angles they will most likely present it is tempting to shoot at their armored sides, but don't - aim for the blue nose.ġ9 mm or armor might as well be paper - even 127mm HE will penetrate and in the case of Nikolai its an extremely large target to shoot. But yeah not worth 4 points on these big guns. Ow and I think north Carolina is also near that. Of the top of my head I think a tiny rim around superstructure on Baern is 40mm? So IFHE on jap 203s would help vs that but it would take asbolute luck to even hit that part. On my Atago captain I don't take the IFHE for this very reason, you don't quite get to the 50mm which would be the decks of ships like tirpitz, Iowa, Kurfurst etc and you get through their 32 mm noses without IFHE as you get 33.8mm HE pen native. 203mm with IFHE can pen the deck but it'd be one of very few cases of it being actually useful for 203mm.
